“The mind can assert anything and pretend it has proved it. My beliefs
I test on my body, on my intuitional consciousness, and when I get a response
there, then I accept."
D.H. Lawrence, British Author What if things are exactly as they appear unless there is a good reason to believe otherwise? A good friend (with a Ph. D. in psychology) walked into a McDonalds early one morning for a cup of coffee. When she pushed against the door, she was flooded internally with the message to turn and leave --- even run. Her logical mind interfered and sent a different message: Dont be ridiculous, you came for a cup of coffee --- just go in and get it. Within minutes after she stepped inside, my friend was in the middle of a robbery. Fortunately, the store manager had summoned the police, and they arrived promptly and the scary incident ended with no one being hurt. I know that I can trust my intuition! It only happens occasionally that my resident skeptic interferes and practices a self-deception that takes me straight to doubt and casts a shadow over what I know in my heart is true. All the while I am declaring that I am being LOGICAL. I
have a new standard in my life today to rely on my intuition and trust
my hearts knowing. Life
Upgrade Distinction
Initial Congruity vs. Initial Skepticism Initial skepticism- entering every experience from a position of doubt. Things are NOT as the appear to be unless I am convinced to believe otherwise. Initial congruityentering every experience from a position of trust. Things are exactly as they appear to be unless there is a good reason to believe otherwise. What if coming from a skeptical position actually may prevent us from seeing things the way they really are? ~o^o~
