Art should be, open, accessible, joyful and memorable. David Dillon, Architecture Critic, Dallas Morning News Are "The Gates" in New Yorks Central Park tugging at your heart and spirit? They are a bright and beautiful respite from the cold and barren winter landscape. The artists, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, say that "The Gates" have no meaning or purpose other than to create beauty and to invite people to enjoy the artistic experience. The exhibit is made up of steel gates with billowing saffron fabric repeated over and over and over. The gates vary only to flow with and to honor the natural terrain and to lead people to places in the park they may never have ventured before. about both art and marketing- that there is something mystical and magical
about being a part of the beauty and mystery of art that is memorable.
